Gail Leikvoll has been named the Employee of the Month for January by the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. Leikvoll works as a patient account representative for St. Gabriel’s Hospital.

Gail Leikvoll, employed as a patient account representative with St. Gabriel’s Hospital, was named January’s Employee of the Month by the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I enjoy the people I work with and those that come into my office for help,” said the 32-year employee. “I especially enjoy helping those who have concerns about both their insurances and their bills. This is an honor.”

Leikvoll, who said she loves to interact with the public, also has the privilege of working in admitting or at the switchboard when needed.

Deb Noble, Leikvoll’s supervisor, said, “Gail shows initiative by going above and beyond what is expected of her on a regular basis.”

Leikvoll, when not at work, loves to collect antiques. She looks for Red Wing pottery in particular, while her husband Jim looks for old pedal tractors.

“We also belong to the Lone Eagle Auto Club and the Minnesota Street Rod Association,” she said. “Jim and I love to travel through Minnesota with the clubs and show our 1964 Chevrolet Impala and 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible.”

Leikvoll grew up in the St. Cloud area, graduating from high school in Sauk Rapids.

“I moved to Little Falls when I got a job with Lampert Lumber,” she said. “Jim and I met and married in 1975.”

The couple live on 80 acres northwest of Little Falls, property they rent out. They also have eight cats that take care of the outbuildings for them.

“Being the Employee of the Month is a great honor,” said Leikvoll, who said she was nominated anonymously. “I was very surprised and am so appreciative of being chosen.”

As gifts, Leikvoll received gift certificates from Pizza Ranch and Domino’s Pizza, flowers from the Flower Dell, a cookbook from St. Gabriel’s Hospital Hospice Program and had her photo taken by Silker Studio.
