Boys Basketball: Pillager clips Royals in overtime of holiday tourney final

The Pillager boys basketball holiday tournament championship game went back and forth down to the wire, Friday.

In overtime, the host Huskies came out on top, edging Royalton 59-58.

Neither team led by more than six points throughout the contest.

Senior Steve Hoff guided the Royals, scoring 23 points with five steals and four assists.

He was joined in double figures by senior Tyler Makela, who scored 12 points and passed out five assists.

Junior Luke Wentland (6), seniors Brandon Lattimer (5) and Dan Anshus (5), juniors Justin Opatz (3) and Matt Silbernick (3) and senior Curtis Makela (2) capped the scoring for the Royals.

Lattimer posted eight rebounds and Anshus added five.

Royalton plays at Swanville, Tuesday.
