Girls Nordic Skiing: Flyers earn second with three racers in top eight at Brainerd

Led by three racers in the top eight, the Little Falls girls Nordic skiing team placed second at Brainerd, Friday.

Sophomore Maria Hauer led the Flyers by earning second in 31:43, easily outdistancing the third-place finisher by 25 seconds.

Juniors Chelsea Rutz and Mattia Hendrickson followed, with Rutz (32:44) taking fifth and Hendrickson (33:56) earning eighth.

Sophomore Kaitlin Geisenhof (35:19) placed 14th to clinch second for Little Falls in the 15-team field.

Senior Sarah Andringa (38:41), junior Chloe Houle (39:29) and senior Ingrid Floersheim (39:38) finished in the top 32.

The Flyers compete at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, Saturday.
