Boys Hockey: Bjorge nets hat trick as Flyers blank Prairie Centre

The Little Falls boys hockey team struck early and often, Tuesday, shutting out Prairie Centre 6-0.

The Flyers’ first goal came just 16 seconds into their first power-play opportunity and 4:03 into the game from junior Ben Newman.

Senior Michael Holthaus buried a goal with 4:16 remaining in the first, followed by a late power-play goal by senior Joey Hanowski, giving Little Falls a 3-0 cushion at the first intermission.

After that, it was all junior Austin Bjorge, all the time, as Bjorge netted the final three goals of the game to tally a hat trick.

Holthaus and sophomore Mark Anez each recorded two assists for Little Falls. Seniors Mitch Gregory, Mike Anez and Hanowski and juniors Matt Stumpf, Luke Majerle and Spencer Fenske picked up one apiece.

Little Falls plays at Pequot Lakes, Thursday.
