Girls Basketball: Pelzer posts 34 points as Upsala rallies past Isle

After trailing by four points at halftime, the Upsala girls basketball team’s offense went to work against Isle, Tuesday.

The Cardinals blitzed the Huskies for 45 second-half points en route to a 71-62 triumph.

Leading the way for Upsala was junior Aimee Pelzer, who had dominated in all aspects of the game.

Pelzer finished with 34 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field, including 3-of-8 from behind the arc.

She also had 10 rebounds, nine assists, six steals and three blocks to pace the Cardinals.

Junior Tracy Herzog provided balance for Upsala in the paint, also posting a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Senior Kimmy Mrozek had nine points and seven rebounds and senior Kaitlyn Wuebkers scored seven points and pulled down 11 rebounds, while seniors Donna Ripplinger (5) and Brianna Westrich (4) capped the scoring.

Upsala returns to Prairie Conference play Thursday, with a home game against Eagle Valley.
