Rose Januschka, 86
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, with Fr. Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Rose Philomena Schmidtbauer was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Buh Township, Morrison County, to the late Joseph and Mary (Boser) Schmidtbauer. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. She moved away for her high school years and graduated from Breckenridge High School. She continued her education and received an LPN degree. She was united in marriage to Stephen Januschka, June 20, 1950, at St. John’s Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup. The couple made their home in Belle Prairie Township where they raised their eight children and lived all their married life until she moved to Diamond Willow in October, 2011. Rose enjoyed her career as a nursery nurse at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls for more than 20 years. Upon her retirement, she volunteered at St. Gabriel’s Hospital. Rose was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie where she was involved in St. Ann’s Society and St. Robert’s Mission Group. Rose loved to giggle and her laugh was infectious. She always had a tender, kind, special place in her heart for those who needed it most. Often she gave words of wisdom, “cherish each day and make it a masterpiece” and “more good has been wrought by prayer than the world dreams of” She loved to cook, bake and read.
