Girls Basketball: Royalton cranks up pressure in second half to hold down Tigers

The first half between the Royalton girls basketball team and Browerville was a defensive struggle, Jan. 5.
The struggle turned into a nightmare for Browerville in the second half while the Royals’ pressure defense overwhelmed the Tigers, leading to a 56-24 Royalton win.
The Royals carried a slim 19-15 lead into the half before limiting Browerville to just nine second-half points.
Junior Kandy Meyer led Royalton with 11 points, while seniors Amy Vannurden and Megan Wiener and junior Kalee Petron added eight apiece.
Junior Hannah Fussy (6), senior Allison Popp (6), Bridget Tschida (5) and Erika Zimmerman (2) and sophomore Jacquline Nichols (2) also provided offense for Royalton.
