Girls Basketball: Upsala routs Eagle Valley 79-50

The Upsala girls basketball team cruised from the start on its way to a 79-50 win, Thursday.

The Cardinals’ offense torched Eagle Valley in the first half, taking a 47-18 lead into the break.

Pelzer led a balanced attack with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Joining her in double figures were Herzog with 12, Mrozek with 11 and Wuebkers and senior Dawn Evoniuk with 10 apiece.

Mrozek added seven rebounds, five assists and four steals while Evoniuk pulled down five boards.

Junior Alissa Zehrer chipped in seven points and eight rebounds and junior Sadie Welinski scored six points.

Upsala plays at West Central Area, Thursday.
