Boys Basketball: Perimeter shooting sparks Upsala win over Eagle Valley

Sophomore Christian Pekarek scored 23 points and junior Andy Nelson hit five three-point shots to finish with 19 to lead the Upsala boys basketball team to a 75-70 win over Eagle Valley, Friday.
Junior Avery Smieja also reached double figures with 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Juniors Eric Frieler (8) and Garrett Wolf (5), senior Thomas Ripplinger (4) and junior Nick Frieler (2) also scored for the Cardinals.
Wolf had a team-high 10 boards and seven assists.
The Cardinals hit nine threes in the game.
Upsala hosts Onamia, Tuesday.
