Boys Basketball: Pioneers shut down Falcons

The Pierz boys basketball team’s defense stymied Foley, Tuesday, holding the Falcons to just 28 percent shooting from the field to earn a 65-38 win.

Nine different players found the scoring column for the Pioneers, led by senior Preston Weber with 17.

Seniors Caleb Janson and Logan Meyer also reached double figures, with Janson scoring 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds and Meyer posting 11 points and five rebounds.

Junior Jess Kasper had seven points and five rebounds, while seniors Dylan Smieja (5) and Michael Marshik (4), juniors Cullin Carter (3) and Josh Templin (3) and senior Ian Engen (2) rounded out the scoring.

Pierz hosts Maple Lake, Thursday.
