Boys Basketball: Upsala blasts Onamia 91-44

The Upsala boys basketball team simply overmatched Onamia, Tuesday, steamrolling the Panthers 91-44.

All 10 of the Cardinals’ players scored in the game, led by sophomore Christian Pekarek with 22.

Adding at least nine points were junior Nick Frieler (12), senior Thomas Ripplinger (10), juniors Eric Frieler (9) and Garrett Wolf (9) and sophomore Dylan Zimmerman (9).

Juniors Matt Abeler (6) and Avery Smieja (6), sophomore Nathan Ehrenberg (5) and junior Andy Nelson (3) rounded out the scoring for Upsala’s offensive attack.

Smieja pulled down eight rebounds and Wolf dished out a game-high five assists.

It was the fourth win in a row for the 6-4 Cardinals.

Upsala hosts West Central Area, Thursday.
