The Little Falls girls Nordic skiing team had four racers finish in the top nine at Tuesday’s Detroit Lakes meet.

That turned out to be more than enough to give the Flyers the top spot in the seven-team field.

Junior Mattia Hendrickson was the top finisher for Little Falls, finishing in second place in 14:52.

Junior Chelsea Rutz was the next racer to cross the finish line, earning third in 14:55.

Sophomores Maria Hauer (15:39) and Kaitlin Geisenhof (15:46) also finished in the top nine, followed by juniors Josie Lange (17:11), Chloe Houle (17:27) and Kristen Gotfredson (18:58) and senior Alishia Olson (18:59).

In the boys race, senior Nathan Almen (13:54) placed ninth to lead the Flyers to third as a team.

Senior Preston Zimny (14:00), sophomore Mathew Massmann (14:22) and junior Brian McNamara (14:32) also scored for Little Falls.
