The cause of Maryann Leona Biskey’s death remains unknown.
The 57-year-old Burtrum woman was found dead Thursday, Jan. 5 a quarter mile from her home in Bruce Township.
Biskey’s husband reported her missing Jan. 4 after he woke up and noticed she was missing. In the residence was the woman’s purse, cell phone, and all vehicles were accounted for.
Friends had not heard from Biskey since the evening of Jan. 3.
“Search efforts were successful. We found the body,” said Todd County Sheriff Peter Mikkelson.
Although Mikkelson would not release who found the body, he said it was a combination of the Todd County Sheriff’s Posse, the Long Prairie Fire and Rescue and the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter.
“There has been an autopsy and we’re still waiting for toxicology reports before we release a cause of death,” said Mikkelson.
An autopsy was performed by the Anoka County Medical Examiner’s Office. Results of the toxicology report will take a couple more weeks, said Mikkelson.
