Girls Basketball: Verndale edges Swanville despite Evans double-double

Swanville junior Marissa Evans scored 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds against the Verndale girls basketball team, Tuesday.

However, the Pirates managed to hold off the Bulldogs down the stretch, winning 58-53.

Junior Tiffany Barthel also had a big game for Swanville, recording 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Senior Lexi Loven picked up six points and senior Molly Jordan scored four points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Juniors Rachel Muhlenkamp and Abbey Schultz, sophomore Nikki Primus and freshman Danica Hanson each contributed two points.

Swanville travels to Upsala, Friday.
