Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan.14, at the First Presbyterian Church in Foley, with the Rev. Allen Jergenson officiating. Burial will be in the Shell City Cemetery in Huntersville. Military honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion Post 298. Friends may call from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour before services at the church.
LeeRoy Shore was born Dec. 5, 1931, in Bull Moose Township, Cass County, to Ora and Matilda (Grossnickle) Shore. At the age of 14, he left school to go work as a ranch hand in South Dakota. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Dixie Frisbie Nov. 17, 1956, in Menahga. He had worked on steel frame buildings and at the Pine River Lumber Yard Company and Sawmill. LeeRoy had worked with the White Farm Equipment Company in Hopkins as a sales manager for more than 20 years. He enjoyed doing farm work for Warren Peschl. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
LeeRoy is survived by his wife, Dixie, Foley; sons and daughters, Joetta (Russ) Holewa, Foley, Darrell, Mound, Leland, Foley, Craig (Becky), Menahga, Russell (Kim), Milaca, Lorelei Shore-Brausen, Graceville and Janita (Kevin) Dieger, Foley; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Annabelle Hawks, Selah, Wash., Julia Libby, Spokane, Wash., Lorraine Bring, Brooklyn Park, Duane “Verle”, Coon Rapids, Walter, Spokane, Wash., Alice Schweninger, Hewit, Bernard “Butch”, Frazee and David, Goldendale, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
