Girls Basketball: Upsala throttles West Central, now last unbeaten team in Prairie

When the Upsala girls basketball team traveled to West Central Area, Thursday, there were two unbeaten teams in the Prairie Conference.

There was little doubt which squad was the better of the two at the end of the night, as Upsala dominated from start to finish, winning 77-44.

Senior Kimmy Mrozek was the leading scorer in the game, pouring in 18 points while also picking up seven rebounds.

Junior Aimee Pelzer recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 assists.

Junior Tracy Herzog had 13 points and three blocks and senior Kaitlyn Wuebkers had 10 points and six rebounds to also reach double figures.

Junior Sadie Welinski (9), seniors Melissa George (6) and Dawn Evoniuk (4) and junior Alissa Zehrer (2) also scored.

Upsala hosts Swanville, Friday.
