Meyer convicted on two felony counts of burglary

James Earl Meyer, 48, Cyrus, was convicted in Morrison County District Court Jan. 11, of two counts of second degree felony burglary.

On Nov. 9, 2011, an individual returned to their residence and discovered Meyer leaving a building. Seven days later, an off-duty Morrison County Deputy Sheriff was watching a suspicious vehicle parked near a residence and observed Meyer leaving. He was arrested on the scene.

Meyer had served two separate 21-month sentences for thefts in Morrison County in 2006 and 2009. His record also showed a burglary conviction from 2005, in Isanti County.

Meyer was sentenced to 48 months for each felony burglary count in the Correctional Facility in St. Cloud and fined $135 for the first count and $935 for the second count.
