The Brainerd-Little Falls girls hockey team ventured to International Falls, Saturday, Jan. 14, but was handed a 5-2 setback.
The host Broncos started strong with a four-goal first period and maintained a 4-0 lead heading into the third.
The Flying Warriors cut that lead in half with back-to-back goals in the opening 2:32 of the third.
Junior Kayla Strickland scored the first goal before sophomore Tory Brown set up senior Zoe Wolhart for the second.
However, International Falls capitalized on a power-play opportunity to put the game away midway through the final period.
Senior goaltender Jodi Bertrand turned away 32 shots for the Flying Warriors.
Brainerd-Little Falls plays against Sartell-St. Stephen tonight in Brainerd.
