The Pioneers’ defense held down Osakis throughout Tuesday’s game, leading to a 56-41 home win for the Pierz girls basketball team.

Senior Lindsay Monson led a trio of players in double figures with 16 points while also pulling down 10 rebounds.

Junior Michaela Rocheleau added 11 points and six rebounds and sophomore Bridget Bednar had 10 points and five rebounds.

Senior Lisa Langer (9) and juniors Alyssa Boser (4), Megan Boser (4) and Elizabeth Tomala (2) rounded out the scoring.

“We played great defense tonight,” head coach Rich Teske said. “We made the extra pass for easy layups multiple times.”
