Robert ‘Bob’ Davis, 74

Robert “Bob” Davis, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Jan. 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, with Father Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Robert Roscoe Davis was born Dec. 2, 1937, in Ladora, Iowa, to Bob and Katherine Davis. After settling in Little Falls in 1968, Bob was a Radio announcer for KLTF Radio. He worked 30 years as administrator of St. Otto’s Care Center and as manager of Alverna Apartments. On May 13, 1961, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Theis at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls. He was involved in the Little Falls Lions Club for 42 years. Bob is a Melvin Jones Fellow, the highest honor for humanitarian service, bestowed by the international organization. In addition he has a Helen Keller Award. Bob volunteered at St. Gabriel’s Hospital as a greeter at the front desk. He delivered Meals On Wheels and was a past Grand Knight. Bob was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He assisted with the American Red Cross blood drives and received a prestigious Francis award for service.

Bob is survived by his mother, Katherine Davis of Little Falls; son, Steven (Mary) Davis of Savage; daughter Jeanne of Little Falls; three grandchildren, Melissa, Megan and Matthew Davis of Savage.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Davis in 2009; father Bob Davis; and sister, Joan (Nace) Davis.
