Flynn convicted of third degree assault

Richard Lee Flynn, III, 44, Little Falls, was convicted in Morrison County District Court Jan. 18, of third degree felony assault. On July 20, 2011, the Little Falls Police Department received a report of an assault at a residence on Sixth Street Southwest. The responding officer met with the victim, who had injuries to his mouth and it appeared several teeth were loose. The victim complained of a sore jaw. The victim told the officer he answered a knock on his door to find Flynn there.  Flynn was upset because the victim’s girlfriend was saying things about him. Flynn punched the victim in the face, then fled the scene. After being transported to the hospital for medical care, it was learned the victim suffered a fractured jaw. Flynn was sentenced to 30 months in the Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, stayed for five years, 364 days in jail and five years supervised probation. He was fined $5,565.64.
