The closing minutes of the game were played with running time, but the end still couldn’t come quick enough for the Sauk Rapids-Rice (SRR) boys basketball team, Tuesday.
That’s because the Little Falls defense punished the host Storm from start-to-finish, leading to an easy 74-27 win.
SRR could only muster 12 points in the first half and just 15 more in the second.
Junior Josh Wenzel led the balanced Flyers’ attack on offense with 13 points, followed closely in double figures by senior Matt Valentine (12), junior Jake Scott (11) and sophomore Troy Scott (10).
Also scoring for Little Falls were junior Collin Eckman (7), senior Tom Smith (6), junior Spencer Lubbers (4), seniors Grant Bell (3) and Aaron Hallberg (3), juniors Nathan Masog (2) and Travis Spillum (2) and sophomore Cam Smith (1).
Lubbers grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Little Falls returns to Granite Ridge Conference (GRC) play with a key road test at St. Cloud Cathedral, Thursday.
The Flyers are 5-0 in the GRC and the Crusaders are 6-1.
