For the second game in a row, the Upsala boys basketball team held its opponent to 42 points, Tuesday.
This time, the Cardinals notched an even bigger victory, scoring 10 more points in an 86-42 win over visiting Holdingford.
Five players finished with at least 11 points for Upsala, led by sophomore Christian Pekarek with 17.
Junior Avery Smieja posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, joined in double figures by juniors Matt Abeler (15) and Eric Frieler (12) and senior Thomas Ripplinger (11).
Junior Garrett Wolf added six points, while juniors Nick Frieler and Andy Nelson and sophomore Nathan Ehrenberg each chipped in three.
Juniors Alex Hiltner (11), Sam Butler (10) and Jeremy Springer (10) led Holdingford offensively.
It was the ninth win in a row for Upsala.
Holdingford plays at Eden Valley-Watkins while Upsala hosts Class AA’s ninth-ranked Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Thursday.
