Girls Basketball: Huls, Volkers team up for 27 points, but Maple Lake holds off Holdingford

Junior Haley Huls scored 16 points and junior Jena Volkers had 11 points and four rebounds, but the Holdingford girls basketball team fell 54-43 against Maple Lake, Tuesday.

Sophomores Sam Maciej (8) and Jodi Middendorf (3) and seniors Mariya Pierskalla (3) and Erin Mensinger (2) also contributed offensively for Holdingford.

The visiting Irish built a 29-21 halftime lead before fending off the Huskers in the second half.

Holdingford hosts Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Friday.
