Boys Basketball: Cathedral hands Flyers first GRC loss

The Little Falls boys basketball team took a 33-30 lead into halftime, but host St. Cloud Cathedral erupted for 51 second-half points en route to an 81-67 win, Thursday.

Cathedral shot 45 percent from the field, including 58 percent from inside the three-point line.

Senior Grant Bell, ordinarily a pass-first guard, shouldered the majority of the scoring load, tallying 25 points to lead Little Falls.

Juniors Josh Wenzel and Jake Scott followed with 10 and seven points, respectively, and senior Matt Valentine posted six points and 10 rebounds.

It was the first loss in Granite Ridge Conference (GRC) play for the Flyers.

Little Falls travels to Alexandria, Tuesday.
