It was a clash of the final two unbeaten squads in the Central Minnesota Conference (CMC) when the Pierz boys basketball team and top-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE), Thursday.
The game remained close early, but BBE began pulling away late in the first half and into the second, winning 90-65.
Senior Preston Weber scored 22 points and senior Caleb Janson racked up 20 for Pierz.
“We got beat by a great team tonight,” head coach Danny Saehr said. “They shot very well from the floor and took advantage of our mistakes.”
Pierz hosts Staples-Motley tonight.
