Boys Basketball: Upsala rally falls short against ninth-ranked LPGE

The Upsala boys basketball team routed its first two opponents this week before narrowly falling in its upset bid against Class AA’s ninth-ranked Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE).

The Cardinals trailed 34-23 before making it close late, but ran out of time in a 61-56 home defeat.

Junior Garrett Wolf netted 17 points and junior Nick Frieler contributed 12 to lead Upsala offensively.

The Cardinals play at Browerville, Friday.
