For nearly 10 years this sign, “We Support Our Troops,” has hung in the city of Little Falls, for the last several years on the Broadway side of the former American National Bank building on Bank Square in Little Falls. At its Feb. 6 meeting, the Little Falls City Council will hear that Robin Hensel has requested the sign be removed, because she feels it violates the city’s sign ordinance. After receiving complaints, the city requested Hensel remove signs from her yard in Southeast Little Falls that violated the city’s sign ordinance. Hensel noticed the “We Support Our Troops” sign when she and 11 others held a demonstration on bank square on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 16. Jerry Lochner, co-city administrator and public works director said the only other complaint the city has ever received about the sign was when it was drooping a bit and the city was asked to straighten it out.
