Wrestling: Pierz pummels LPGE

The Pierz wrestling team wrapped up the week with a convincing 68-6 win in a home dual against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE).

Seventh grader Lane Girtz, Woitalla, Ortman, Kapsner, sophomore Mac Gruber, Julich, Waytashek and Johnson all had pins for the Pioneers.

Sullivan earned a technical fall and Tomala rallied to score the final four points at 182 to earn a 5-3 decision.

The Pioneers remained at No. 10 in the most recent Class A rankings, with Tomala rated fourth, Ortman seventh and Meyer and Waytashek each ninth.
