Girls Basketball: Fast start, strong finish lift Little Falls over Zimmerman

Whitney Weisz (20), Jamie Jenks (14) and Annie Ploof (13) each reached double figures as the Little Falls girls basketball team defeated Zimmerman 72-57, Saturday.

Little Falls started the game strong, running out to a 21-9 lead before taking a 40-31 edge into the half.

Zimmerman pulled within two points at 50-48 in the second half, but the Flyers responded with a 16-0 run to put the game away.

Jennifer Hortness added nine points, Mariah Burns picked up six and Makayla Jorgensen added four for the Flyers, with Laura Moe, Jennifer Ronning and Amber Hines each adding two.

Little Falls hosts Milaca, Thursday.
