The Morrison County American Dairy Association (ADA) is seeking candidates to participate in the 59th annual Morrison County Dairy Princess contest. It has been set for Saturday, March 24, at the Falls Ballroom in Little Falls.
A candidate must be a high school graduate by July 1, and not yet be 24 years of age. She or her parents (or legal guardian) must be actively engaged in production of milk for sale to a licensed plant during the current year. A candidate also qualifies if she or her parents (or legal guardian) are employed on a dairy farm in a dairy-related capacity.
The newly-crowned Morrison County Dairy Princess(es) will go to a training seminar to be held May 18 – 20 at St. Ben’s College in St. Joseph. In addition to the learning skills, they will also have the chance to compete for the 12 spots to advance to the Princess Kay of the Milky Way competition in August.
At all levels of competition, contestants are judged on their communication skills, personality, enthusiasm for dairy promotion and general knowledge of the dairy industry.
