Girls Basketball: Maple Lake tops Royalton in defensive struggle

The Royalton girls basketball team limited Maple Lake’s offense, but couldn’t muster enough of its own, Tuesday, as the visiting Irish earned a 51-31 win.

Senior Amy Vannurden led the Royals on offense with 10 points, followed by senior Megan Wiener with six points and 12 rebounds.

Junior Kalee Petron finished with four points and eight boards, senior Erika Zimmerman had three points, and senior Bridget Tschida, junior Hannah Fussy and sophomores Emily Fussy and Jacquline Nichols each added two.

Royalton hosts Eagle Valley, Thursday.
