Keith Kruschke, certified public accountant (CPA) has opened an office at 225 S.E. First St. in Little Falls.
His services will include tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll services, tax planning and consulting, business consulting and personal “good advice.”
Kruschke said, “I feel the tax return is just a culmination of a year-long process. I try to teach a client how to maximize their income to get the best possible tax return.”
Julie Sievert payroll specialist/bookkeeper will be working with Kruschke in the Little Falls office.
For the past 12 years, Kruschke has worked out of his home.
“I do client interviews at their home. My clients like this and it works out well,” he said. “By doing it this way there are less distractions and a more comfortable atmosphere for them. Often times when clients have to go to an office to conduct their business they leave something at home that they need. This way they can just go to a drawer and find what is needed. I enjoy doing it.” He said, “I work for my clients. They do not work for me.”
Kruschke estimated he puts on about 47,000 miles a year visiting clients.
“My tax season days often start at 3:30 a.m. and end around 9 p.m. I would not be able to give the service I do if it was not for my wonderful wife Paula, who is around to pick up the pieces,” he said.
He also noted that if a client starts a small business he will help them register their business and get rolling at no cost.
“My philosophy is I am out there to help people when they need help,” he said.
“The fee we charge is based on the time it takes for the service. And for those in the military on active duty or deployed I will do their taxes for free,” said Kruschke.
Taking classes plays an important role in Kruschke’s position as a CPA. He said, “I attend 40 hours of classes each year to retain my CPA license. The classes range from taxes to insurance, retirement to ObamaCare.”
Kruschke and his wife have one son, Calvin, who attends school in Pierz. Kruschke said, “He is known as the ‘Kid on the Billboard’ saying ‘Make my Dad your CPA.’”
