Wrestling: Royalton-Upsala quiets Huskies 40-19

The first career win for eighth grader Tim Valencia-Louden helped clinch a 40-19 road win for the Royals over Albany, Tuesday.

With the Royals leading 15-13 after 145, Valencia-Louden pinned his opponent late in the second period to push Royalton-Upsala’s lead to 21-13.

Sophomore Mitch Lange and freshman Chris George followed with back-to-back shutout wins to put the dual away.

Sophomore Shawn Urbanski earned a fall, freshman Brady Moulzolf won by disqualifcation and senior Austin Hackett and junior Cory Wensmann picked up forfeits for bonus-point victories.

Senior Andy Poster won with a 2-0 decision to improve to 30-0 on the season at 126.

Royalton-Upsala hosts a rescheduled dual against Aitkin, Saturday.
