Gymnastics: Little Falls places five in top nine on beam in regular season finale

Led by five finishers in the top nine on balance beam, the Little Falls gymnastics team placed second at its home tri, Thursday.

The meet against Detroit Lakes and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE) capped regular season action for the Flyers.

Sophomore Rachelle Le-Blanc led the Flyers on beam and overall, winning the event with a score of 9.25 en route to a second-place effort in the all-around (36.775).

She also placed second on floor exercise (9.475), third on vault (9.3) and fourth on bars (8.75).

Junior Carly Atkinson placed fifth on beam (8.3), followed by junior Diana Kempenich (8.2), eighth grader Sarah Stout (7.75) and senior Staci Stein (7.65).

Atkinson added a sixth-place finish on vault (8.65) and senior Amanda Hanson earned sixth on floor (8.4) and seventh on bars (7.85).

Stout also placed seventh on floor (8.2), helping her earn seventh in the all-around competition (31.15).

Little Falls was scheduled to compete at the Granite Ridge Conference meet, Saturday, Feb. 11.

This week, the Flyers travel to Fergus Falls, Saturday, Feb. 18, for the Section 8A meet.
