Girls Basketball: Pelzer’s perimeter shooting sparks runaway win for Upsala over Eagle Valley

Junior Aimee Pelzer sank five three-point shots for the second consecutive game, leading the Upsala girls basketball team to an 84-47 Prairie Conference win at Eagle Valley, Monday.

Pelzer finished the night with a team-high 27 points while also accumulating eight rebounds and seven assists.

Senior Kaitlyn Wuebkers also came close to a triple-double, posting 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for the Cardinals.

Junior Tracy Herzog (16), seniors Dawn Evoniuk (8), Kimmy Mrozek (8) and Donna Ripplinger (4), junior Sadie Welinski (2) and sophomore Kaelin Smieja (2) rounded out the scoring for Upsala.

Mrozek added eight rebounds, eight steals and seven assists.

Upsala hosts West Central Area, Thursday.
