Gertrude Boser, 92

Gertrude Boser, a resident of Onamia,  passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center in Onamia.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia. Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to Mass. Memorials preferred to the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia.

Gertrude was born July 10, 1919, in Chokio, to George and Clara (Krause) Diers. In 1925, the family moved to Onamia where her parents purchased a farm. Gertrude was united in marriage to Vernon Boser, Oct. 12, 1940, in Onamia. The couple also farmed south of Cove. She volunteered at the Mille Lacs Long Term Care Center in Onamia for over 27 years delivering mail to residents and other activities. Gertrude was the Holy Cross church sacristan for many years. She enjoyed quilting for family. Gertrude will be greatly missed by all.

Gertrude is survived by her sons, David Boser and wife, Cathy of Plymouth, Gary Boser and wife, Pat of Dalbo; daughter, Eileen Mundt of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Lena Scuito of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon; parents, George and Clara (Krause) Diers; brother, Raymond Diers; sister, Lenora Wenrich; and son-in-law, Don Mundt.
