The Holdingford wrestling team won 13 of 14 bouts Tuesday to overpower Ogilvie 74-3 in the Section 7A quarterfinals.

Seventh-ranked Mitch Messman won by fall, freshman Nathan Brinker cruised 17-1 and junior Trevor Scott won 10-6 for the Huskers.

The visiting Lions forfeited all but four of the matches, winning only one.

The second-seeded Huskers advance to take on third-seeded Aitkin in Friday’s semifinals at 6 p.m. With a win, Holdingford would wrestle for a chance to go to state against the winner between top-seeded Pierz and fourth-seeded Mille Lacs Area.

Holdingford defeated Aitkin 37-31, Dec. 8, 2011.

The Huskers lost 37-21 against Pierz, Feb. 3, with seven of the matches decided by five points or less.
