Girls Basketball: Upsala smothers St. John’s Prep 67-27

The sixth-ranked Upsala girls basketball team’s defense smothered St. John’s Prep, Monday, allowing just 17 points in the first half and only 10 more in the second en route to a 67-27 win.

Junior Aimee Pelzer led the offensive effort with 26 points and seven assists, followed by senior Kimmy Mrozek with 16 points and junior Tracy Herzog with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Senior Kaitlyn Wuebkers (8), junior Sadie Welinski (4) and senior Dawn Evoniuk (3) also provided scoring.

Upsala plays at Swanville, Tuesday.
