Girls Basketball: BBE holds off Pierz 55-50

The Pierz girls basketball team was unable to cling to a slim 29-28 halftime advantage against visiting Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE), Tuesday, falling 55-50.

Senior Lindsay Monson helped the Pioneers stay in the game with a near triple-double, recording 19 points, 12 rebounds and nine blocks.

Senior Lisa Langer also reached double figures with 13 points.

Sophomore Bridget Bednar (5) and juniors Alyssa Boser (5), Megan Boser (4), Michaela Rocheleau (3) and Elizabeth Tomala (1) rounded out the scoring.

Pierz travels to Sauk Rapids-Rice for a non-conference game, Thursday.
