Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, with Pastor Gary Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls.
Orville was born Jan. 29, 1926, in Platte Township, Morrison County, to the late Christ and Mary (Wolff) Reese. He attended country school District #71 in Platte Township, Morrison County. Orville was united in marriage to Lorraine Bednar June 13, 1970, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Randall. He farmed in Platte Township for most of his life. Orville was also employed at Larson Boat Works in Little Falls for 23 years when he retired in 1988. After his retirement, he hobby farmed and was most proud of his Hereford beef cows. Orville was an avid deer hunter never missing a season. He also enjoyed fishing, working with wood, spending time with this grandchildren and collecting miniature John Deere tractors. Orville loved to share his stories and memories of the past with his grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Orville is survived by wife, Lorraine Reese of Pierz; sons, Jeffrey (Lori) Reese of Zimmerman, Kevin Reese of Spokane, Wash. and Robert (Nannette) Jackson of New York; daughters, Kathy Capasko of Texas, Mary (Clyde) Bellefeuille of Fort Ripley and Donna (John) Hobbs of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Orville was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Rocheleau; and parents, Christ and Mary (Wolff) Reese.
