Pierz High School hosted the area five Unified basketball tournament, Feb. 14. Staples-Motley placed first, Pierz placed second, Pillager placed third and Crosby-Ironton placed fourth. Unified sports is a program that allows athletes with and without cognitive disabilities to compete together in various Olympic sports, encouraging physical fitness, courage and friendship.
