Boys Basketball: Makela, Hoff spark second-half rally for Royalton over Onamia

Onamia carried a 34-29 lead into halftime over the Royalton boys basketball team, Friday.
It didn’t last long, as the Royals doubled up the host Panthers 38-19 in the second half en route to a 67-53 triumph.
Seniors Tyler Makela (17) and Steve Hoff (16) led the Royals offensively, with junior Luke Wentland also reaching double figures with 11 points.
Senior Dan Anshus and junior Matt Silbernick each scored eight points and combined for 17 rebounds.
“Our defense stepped up,” Royalton head coach Randy Thielges said. “If we want to make a playoff run, we will need to be more consistent on defense.”
Royalton plays at Pillager, Tuesday.
