The Swanville girls basketball team jumped out to an early lead in its Sub-Section 5A West playoff opener at Browerville, Monday, taking a 25-21 lead into halftime.
But the Tigers battled back in the second half, handing the Bulldogs a 63-58 defeat to end its season.
Swanville found itself in foul trouble early in the second half, giving Browerville an opening to take the lead and hold off the Bulldogs down the stretch.
Junior Marissa Evans posted a double-double to lead Swanville, posting 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Junior Tiffany Barthel added 13 points and five rebounds.
Senior Molly Jordan and junior Abbey Schultz each scored seven points and distributed three assists.
Swanville finished the season with a 7-16 record, 5-11 in the Prairie Conference.
Jordan and Lexi Loven were the lone seniors on this year’s team.
