James ‘Jim’ R. Ludwig, 60

James “Jim” R. Ludwig, a resident of Rice, died Feb. 24, 2012.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice, with the Rev. Thomas Becker officiating. Burial was at a later date in the parish cemetery.

James was born March 10, 1951, in St. Cloud to Peter and Lorraine (Meyer) Ludwig. He was a member of the Rice community all of his life. Jim married Debbie Burggraff Sept. 25, 1976, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice. He was a pipe fitter at the Sartell Paper Mill for over 40 years, until his retirement in 2011. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and the Rice American Legion.  He was a hard worker, loved the outdoors, fishing, golfing, bowling and bingo. Jim was very passionate, generous, and loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie of Rice; children, Micah Auerbach of Los Angeles, Calif., Melissa (Adam) Chase of Maple Grove, Katie Ludwig of Fairfax, Va., Jessica (Bobby) McMillan of Panama City Beach, Fla., Stacy (Fiancé Neil Manthe) Ludwig of Seattle, Wash.; siblings, John (Judy) of St. Cloud, Rose (Bob) Salner of St. Augusta, Carrie (Dave) Sweeney of Rice, Mark (Lynn) of Rice, Gerald (Lanetta) of St. Cloud, Rita (Bill) Trivelpiece of Villa Rica, Ga., Kevin (Kay) of Baltimore, Md. and Patty Ludwig of Foreston; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents.
