Girls Basketball: Monson scores 24, but Albany knocks off Pierz in sections

Senior Lindsay Monson turned in another high-scoring performance at Albany in the opening round of the Section 6AA playoffs, Thursday.

But the Huskies were still able to hold off the Pioneers 61-53, bringing Pierz’ season to a close.

Senior Lisa Langer and junior Megan Boser each had seven points to complement Monson.

Sophomore Bridget Bednar (5) and juniors Alyssa Boser (5), Michaela Rocheleau (3) and Elizabeth Tomala (2) rounded out the scoring.

Pierz finished the season with a record of 16-11.

Langer and Monson were the two seniors on this year’s team.
