Romaine Adamietz, 84

Romaine Adamietz, a resident of Motley, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Romaine  Tuesday, March 6, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley. Burial was in St. Isidore’s Catholic Cemetery in Moran Township.

Romaine Domonic Adamietz was born May 1, 1927, to Isidore and Clara (Zervas) Adamietz in rural Staples, Todd County. He was educated in country school, Sacred Heart Parochial and Staples High School. He married Corinne Palava Oct. 2, 1952, and they resided in Todd and Morrison counties. Romaine was a farmer, a Land O’ Lakes and U.S. Postal employee, retiring in 1989 while remaining on the family farm until 2007. He was a musician, playing accordion and piano in several dance bands in the Browerville and Clarissa area in the 1940s, 50s and 60s.  He was a lifetime member of St. Isidore’s Catholic Church, Moran Township, until its closing in 2008. Presently, Romaine was a member of St. Michael’s, Motley. Romaine is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3663, he was a choir member, an usher and trustee at St. Isidore’s.

Romaine is survived by his wife,  Corinne, of Motley; sons, Charles (Ellen) of Bloomington and Gregory (Kathy) of Moorhead; daughter, Patricia (Pete) Canovai of Timberlake, N.C.; one granddaughter, Nicole Adamietz of Moorhead; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Francis.
