A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, March 12, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Pierz.
Emma was born April 5, 1918, in Lastrup, to the late Matt and Barbara (Faust) Stuckmeyer. She grew up and attended country school in Buh Township, Morrison County. Emma was united in marriage to Edward Hoffman, Nov. 10, 1943, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Lastrup. She lived and raised her family on their farm northeast on Pierz, for many years until relocating to Pierz, in 1983. Emma later became a resident at Rose Court in Pierz for several years until she became a resident at the Pierz Villa. She was an avid card and bingo player as well as an incredible cook and vegetable gardener. Most of all Emma was an incredible mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Emma is survived by sons, Virgil (Doris) Hoffman of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Dennis (Janice) Hoffman of Pierz; brothers, Gerald Stuckmeyer of Pierz and Melvin Stuckmeyer of Pierz; sisters, Janette Schlagel of St. Paul and Marilyn Flicker of St. Paul; grandchildren, Brenda (Mike) Kinnan of Maple Grove, and Dale Hoffman of Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Cameron, and Abigail; and great-great granddaughter, Alhiya; and many nieces and nephews.
Emma was preceded in death by husband, Edward Hoffman; parents, Matt and Barbara Stuckmeyer; brothers, Matt Stuckmeyer and Clarence Stuckmeyer; sisters, Saraphine Loidolt, Delores Saehr and Melvina Lust; granddaughter, Karen Hoffman; and infant son, Matthew Hoffman.
