Gorton sentenced to 180 days in jail for possession
Jennifer Fayanne Gorton, 25, Little Falls, was sentenced March 7, in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of fifth degree possession of drugs
On Jan. 18, a Little Falls police officer observed a vehicle drive through a stop sign. He followed the suspect until it came to a stop at a local business. The officer observed a driver, a person in the back seat and another in a fetal position on the floor. The person hiding from the officer’s view was identified as Gorton, who admitted she had a warrant for her arrest.
Inside Gorton’s purse, the officer located a hypodermic syringe and an orange pill bottle under her seat containing a crystal-like substance which field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Gorton was sentenced to 13 months at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee, stayed for five years and to 180 days in jail. She was fined $135 and given five years of supervised probation.
