On Sunday, March 25, dancers from dozens of Minnesota cities will be competing at the Just For Kix (JFK) “United We Dance” competition in St. Cloud. Dancers in grades 2-12, will do their best in an attempt to win first place.
The competition is at Halenbeck Hall at St. Cloud State University. The event begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to end around 9 p.m. The competition is split into more than 30 divisions with a total of 155 performances throughout the day.
St. Cloud Area Just For Kix teams will compete in various categories including kick, jazz, lyrical and hip hop divisions. There will also be teams from many other towns in Central Minnesota including Holdingford, Little Falls, Melrose, Albany, Foley, Brainerd, Rocori, Paynesville, Willmar and Rice.
JFK performances allow dancers to “shine” and be part of something bigger than themselves. All dancers will receive ribbons and first and second place teams will win plaques.
Award ceremonies will take place throughout the day.
Competitions promote striving for excellence. They are a chance for coaches to teach and show dancers what it means to work hard and have poise and confidence in front of an audience.
